Privacy policy
Effective date: 22 September 2026
This policy describes what happens to personal information in connection with vertexspace.online. It is written under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, because the site is written for readers in Australia, and it describes only what this site actually does.
1. Who is responsible
The site is published and controlled by:
NIKOM CONSTRUCT s.r.o.
Na Čečeličce 425/4, Smíchov, 150 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic
Company number: 22293671
VAT: CZ22293671
Privacy contact: info@vertexspace.online
That company decides what is published here and is the entity to write to about anything in this policy.
2. What is collected
The honest answer is very little, and it is worth being precise about the three categories rather than padding the list.
- Nothing is collected through the site itself
- There is no form, no input field, no sign-up box, no account, no comment section, no survey and no chat widget anywhere on this site. There is nothing to submit, so nothing is submitted. The site sets no cookies of its own, permits no third party to set one, and uses no local storage, session storage or browser fingerprinting. It loads no analytics, no advertising tag, no conversion pixel and no third-party script or font.
- Ordinary server logs, kept by the hosting provider
- Like any web server, the machine serving these pages records each request: the IP address the request came from, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the response code and the date and time. An IP address can be personal information in some circumstances, which is why it is described here.
- Whatever you put in an email
- If you write to the address above, the message reaches a mailbox and stays there. It contains your email address and whatever you chose to include in it. Nothing obliges you to include more than you need to.
3. Why, and on what basis
Server logs exist so that the site can be kept running and defended. They are used to diagnose errors, to identify abusive traffic such as automated scraping or attempted intrusion, and for nothing else. They are not analysed to build audience statistics, are not used for advertising, and are not combined with anything.
Email correspondence is used to read and answer the message, and to keep a record of a correction or complaint and how it was handled. It is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, these uses are the purposes for which the information was collected and are directly related to operating the site. Under European law, where it applies to this company, the basis is legitimate interests: keeping the site secure and available, and responding to people who write in. No processing here relies on consent, because there is no cookie or tracking technology to consent to.
4. How long information is kept
- Server logs: no longer than 30 days, after which they are deleted or overwritten by the hosting provider in the ordinary course.
- Email correspondence: up to 24 months from the last message in the exchange, then deleted. A message that forms part of a legal matter is kept until that matter is concluded and any applicable limitation period has passed.
No other category of personal information is held, so no other retention period applies.
5. Who information is disclosed to, and cross-border disclosure
Two recipients exist, and no others.
The hosting provider, which operates the server and therefore holds the logs described above. The email provider, which carries and stores messages sent to the address above.
Both operate outside Australia; this site is hosted in Europe, and the publisher is established in the Czech Republic. Under Australian Privacy Principle 8, that means personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients, and the likely country is a member state of the European Union. No personal information is disclosed to advertisers, advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers or social platforms, because none of them receives anything from this site. If a reader follows a paid link to an advertiser, everything that happens after they leave this site is governed by the advertiser's and the network's own policies, not by this one.
6. Security
Pages are served over HTTPS, so traffic between a reader's browser and the server is encrypted. Administrative access to the server and the mailbox is limited to the publisher and protected by unique credentials and multi-factor authentication. The site holds no database of readers, no accounts and no payment information — the simplest security measure available is having nothing worth stealing, and it is the one relied on most here.
7. Your rights, and how to use them
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may ask for access to personal information held about you, and ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate. In practice that means correspondence you have sent, and log entries if you can identify them.
Write to info@vertexspace.online. A request is answered within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. If the answer is unsatisfactory, or a complaint about privacy is not resolved, it can be taken to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which regulates the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and explains its complaint process on its website.
8. Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to an individual, the publisher will notify the individuals at risk and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
9. Children
This site is not directed at people under 16. It collects nothing from anyone, including children, and it has no registration, profile or communication feature through which a child could provide personal information. Material about household settings and classification is written for parents and carers rather than for children.
10. European and UK rights
The publisher is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation applies to its processing. Where it does, you have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests. The legitimate interests relied on are stated in section 3: keeping the site secure and available, and answering correspondence.
Requests go to the address above. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to a supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), or the authority in the country where you live or work. Readers in the United Kingdom have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR and may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this one on this page and the effective date at the top changes with it. Where a change is significant — for example, if the site ever began collecting something — it would be described in a note on this page, and any collection would not begin before the policy describing it was published. There is no list to notify, so this page is the notice.
12. Cookies
There are none. The cookie policy explains what that means in practice and why this site has no consent banner.
