Cookie policy
Effective date: 22 September 2026
This site sets no cookies. That is the whole policy; the rest of this page explains what it means, what happens instead, and what would have to change before a single cookie appeared.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits, which lets the site recognise the same browser over time. Cookies are used for useful things such as keeping someone signed in, and for less welcome ones such as building a profile of browsing behaviour across different sites.
This site sets none
Vertexspace.online sets no cookies of its own and allows no third party to set one through it. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising or retargeting cookie, no conversion pixel, no social media embed, no A/B testing tool and no session identifier. No third-party script of any kind is loaded on any page.
Because nothing is stored on your device and nothing is tracked, there is nothing for you to consent to, which is why you will not see a cookie banner here. A consent banner on a site that sets no cookies would be a false statement dressed as a legal formality, and it would be the only misleading thing on the page.
The absence is easy to verify. Open your browser's developer tools on any page of this site, look at the storage and network panels, and you will find no cookies, no storage entries and no requests to any host other than this one.
What happens instead
Two things happen when you open a page here, and both are ordinary.
Your browser requests files from this server. The page itself, one stylesheet and one small script, all served from vertexspace.online. Nothing else is requested: no fonts, no libraries, no images from another host. The site makes no external requests at all.
The hosting provider records the request in a server log. That log holds the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the response code and the timestamp. It is used for security and diagnostics, kept for no longer than 30 days, and described in more detail in the privacy policy. A server log is not a cookie: nothing is written to your device, and the record cannot follow you to another website.
No local storage, and no fingerprinting
This site uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB. It does not attempt browser fingerprinting of any kind — it does not measure your screen, enumerate your fonts, read your graphics hardware or record how you move through a page.
The only JavaScript on the site is a single first-party file that opens the menu on small screens and the grouped navigation panels. It is short, unminified and readable in full at /assets/main.js. It stores nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
When you leave this site
Some links here go to other websites: Australian government services, a game vendor, and one advertiser's address, which is a paid link and marked as such wherever it appears. Those sites have their own cookie practices, and this policy cannot describe them. Once you follow a link, what happens is governed by the policy of the site you have arrived at.
Controlling cookies in your browser anyway
Nothing here sets a cookie, but the rest of the web does, and every current browser lets you manage them. In the privacy or site-settings section of a browser's preferences you can normally block third-party cookies, clear cookies already stored, choose to delete them when the browser closes, and inspect what a particular site has stored. The options and their names differ between browsers and change between versions, so the browser's own help pages are the reliable reference.
If this ever changes
This site is built to be read, not to measure its readers, and there is no plan to add a cookie. Should that ever change, three things would happen in the same release, before a single cookie was set: this page would be rewritten to describe exactly what is set, by whom, for what purpose and for how long; a working consent mechanism would be in place so that non-essential cookies were only set after consent was given; and the effective date above would change so the difference was visible.
